WOMEN TRIP TO INDIA

ITINERARY FEB-MAR 2011

DAY 1 - 17 FEBRUARY – DESTINATION INDIA

We will meet – with out doubt all with big emotions and illusion- to part to our adventure in India.

We will leave Barcelona at noon time, and we will fly trough Istanbul to the city of New Delhi.

DAY 2 - 18 FEBRUARY – THE OLD DELHI

We are supposed to reach New Delhi, at early morning. After clearing immigration and custom formalities, group will board on coach and we

will proceed directly towards Bangla Sahib Gurudwara Temple, to feel

the ceremony of the Sheiks prayers with the new day. From there we will go directly to our hotel, for breakfast, use washroom facilities etc. We will get rooms as early as possible (check in time is 12 noon). After some resat, we will continue our day by lunch at Lotus garden and then visit to Art & Craft museum, from there we will continue to visit RajGhat (Mahatma Gandhi Memorial) with group meeting. We will close our first day in India by visiting the new temple, Akshardham, which is knowen as the new marbles of India, the monument is one of the wonders of modern India.

Return to Ramada hotel for overnight stay – New Delhi.

DAY 3 - 19 FEBRUARY – THE NEW DELHI

We will began our day with sightseeing tour of Old Delhi including Rickshaws ride in Chandni Chowk, we will drive pass through the Red Fort (built by Mughal emperor Shahjahan in 1648). From there, we will continue our sightseeing tour of New Delhi visiting India Gate, Parliament house. Before lunch, we will proceed toured Santushti, to shop like a rich Indian lady. We will close our sightseeing day with Qutab Minar, the first Delhi. At night we will enjoy a private Culinary Demonstration and a dinner, at Monish´s house- at the city of Gurgaon, the Millennium city- with her professional cooking friends, Ekta and Anju, and with her family. We will have the opportunity to learn about the Indian gastronomy, the food, the spices and how they use it.

Return to hotel for overnight stay.

DAY 4 - 20 FEBRUARY – FROM DELHI TO PUSHKAR

Early morning, we will enjoy our first journey in train at India, to reach Ajmer, Pushkar. We will be able to enjoy a nice breakfast, the view of the desert of Rajestan, and to observe how the city of Delhi is waking up, for a new day, we will reach Pushkar at the middle of the day. Then we will have free time to enjoy the city of Pushkar, this is a very nice and peacefully place, one can relax at the hotel, overlooking the lake, to visit the local markets on foot or to perceive the temples and the Sadus. In the evening we will witness Arti Ceremony at the Brahma temple (Hindu ceremony) and we will spend some time, visiting the biggest attraction of Pushkar: the Brahma temple, the only temple in the world dedicated to the Crater.

Pushkar is a religesh city, so there is no eggs and no meat, we will adjust our diet to such culture.

DAY 5 - 21 FEBRUARY – PUSHKAR

Early morning we will clime to Savitri temple, the temple of Brahma´s

wife, the temple is perched a top the Ratnagari hill. From there we can

see the entire city of Pushkar, the beautiful lake and the desert of Rajistan. After breakfast, we will have our own Pooja for the group, so spiritual and special. The rest of the morning we will dedicate to explore Pushkar and it´s different temples. In the evening we will enjoy a Gala evening at the dessert: camel ride, bonfire with tea at sand dunes. Later in the evening, we will enjoy a Lavish buffet dinner, with Rajasthani dance show and music.

Return to hotel for overnight sleep.

DAY 6 - 22 FEBRUARY– FROM PUSHKAR TO JAIPUR

Parting to our next destiny: the cit of Jaipur. On the way we will visit the Salt Lake City, the city of the marble. After registration and some rest in our hotel at Jaipur, the Arey Niwas with it´s beautiful garden, we will visit the Dream House. The house of a Jain family and it´s workshop of glass and iron, we will meet Mr. Raju and it´s wonderful wife, Sima, that will welcome us and will show us their spacial house, and way it is builed like that. We will be able to learn the handicraft work of bangles recycling, and the hand made iron work. Late afternoon we will visit Galtaji, the monkey temple, situated on the hills that surround the city of Jaipur, there we will enjoy the sunset and the energies of the temple. After our dinner at the hotel, we can enjoy an Indian concert, of Tabla and Sitar, especially for us. Overnight at hotel – Jaipur.

DAY 7 - 23 FEBRUARY– JAIPUR

After having our breakfast at the garden of our hotel, we will drive to the city of Sanganir, there we will have our textile workshop: we will learn the history, tradition, creation and colors of this traditional art. In the afternoon we will have our sightseeing tour of Jaipur city, visiting City Palace and Palace of the Winds. In the evening we will enjoy a peculiar experience: an Indian Movie, at the famous Raj Mandir cinema. Dinner we will have at an tipical Indian restaurant.

DAY 8 - 24 FEBRUARY– JAIPUR

We will start our day as a Maharani, with an elephant ride to Ambar Fort, we will enjoy the

ancient palace, it´s decoration, its unic system of water and it´s reach art and architecture. From there we will drive to the village of Achrol, to the farm house, to meet with Tara and his beautiful family. They will show us how a farm Indian family lives, the house, the work of the women and the animals. We will have the opportunity to prepare with them the Chapati, the Indian bread.

On the afternoon we will have time to visit the different colored Bazaars, the markets of Jaipur.

At night we will have the honer to meet her excellency Ratna Kumari and her husband the Maharajah of Shapura, we will celebrate our last night in Jaipur, on the ruff of the Shapura House -which used to be the residence of the family- with a lovely dinner.

DAY 9 - 25 FEBRUARY – FROM JAIPUR TO AGRA

We will part to our next destiny, the city of Agra, to see the Taj Mahal, one of the seventh marvels of the world. On the way we will visit the abandoned city of Fatehpur Sikri, the capital of the big emperor, Akbar. The first thing we will do reaching the city of Agra will be to visit the Red Fort and the house of Mother Teresa. Dinner with overnight at hotel, with group meeting – Agra.

DAY Nº 10 - 26 FEBRUARY –FROM AGRA TO RISHIKESH VIA DELHI

At early morning we will visit the marvels of the Taj Mahal. After breakfast we will leave turd's Delhi, to reach the next day to our next destination, the city of Rishikesh. We will reach Delhi at the afternoon, and this time, we will meet a different face of the city of Delhi, the Paharagansh, the area of the “Mochileros”, were they used to stay on there different journeys throw India. We will stay in a very ambiented hotel, and we will visit the Main Bazaar, the principal market of the area, were we will dedicate our time to buy.

Reaching Delhi, first we will visit the Lotus temple.

DAY 11 - 27 FEBRUARY – DELHI RISHIKESH

Early morning, we will take Rickshaws to the train station, to take our train to Haridwar.

Arriving to the city of Haridwar, and before living to the city of Rishikesh, we will have our sightseeing of the city of Haridwar, with the Ganges river, this is a sacred place, were Hindu people come to purify them self's. After, we will drive by road to Rishikesh, this city, divided by the holy river of Ganges, is situated on the first mountains of the Himalaya, its a holy city for the Hinduism and it is knowing for being an important spiritual center. Due to that, there are many students from all over India and the world, how comes to seek for answers. The city have a very nice combination of peace, the Ganges river, the colored Ashrams centers for Yoga and Meditation and the sound of the bells from the praying of the different centers. In the afternoon we will witness an Arti at Parmarth Ghat, at the side of the Gangs river. This is a daily ceremony on which, hundreds of students from the diverts Ashrams, all dressed in orange color, meet at the river, to pray, to sing, to honouree and to give their gratitude to the river.

DAY 12 - 28 FEBRUARY –RISHIKESH

We will began the day with Yoga Meditation session, with the view of the Ganges. All relaxed we will part for our excursion to Kunjapuri temple by jeep ride, which is situated on the top of the mountain. There we can relax and enjoy the beautiful view of the Himalayan mountains, a perfect envaierment, to meet with our inner peace, there we will have our last meditation. Again in Rishikesh, we will start out sightseeing from Laxman Jhula bridge until Ram Jhula bridge, on the way, one can observe the Sadhus living next to the river. We will have a typical Indian Tahali, for lunch and then we will have meeting with Guru, for a lecture. On the afternoon, we will have free time to enjoy from the different markets of Rishikesh. After dinner, we will have our last group meeting of the trip.

DAY 13 – 01 MARCH –RISHIKESH DELHI

Our journey back, will begin today: we will be parting trow Delhi, after our breakfast, for a trip of 7 hours. Reaching Delhi on the afternoon, we will visit an Indian home, for cocktail, were group shall meet and interact with modern Indian families and learn the art of wearing a Saree. After that we will get to our hotel, near the air port, for dinner and some rest.

DAY N 14 - 02 MARCH –BACK HOME

A few hours after midnight, we will proceed to the Indira Gandhi International air port, to part to our final destination, back home, throw Istanbul. We will reach Barcelona at the afternoon, and with out doubte, this journey will continue to vibrate inside of every one of us, for a long time.

conception of time, and the rhythm of all activities. Some thing with out dote, very difference, then what we know in our culture and in our day. Because of that, we warmly recommended to come prepared, to deal with all kind of changes with patience and understanding, that changes can happened in our trip, not always with our posibility to influence.
